If you were raised with the old adage "Waste Not, Want Not" then this article will probably have you steaming. Our nation is so wealthy and become so spoiled that most of us make no effort at all to use much of the food we have available. In a world where people still go to bed hungry, a nation which is slowly moving toward obesity, and who's citizens throw away almost as much food as they eat, is a shame and a disgrace. Efforts to utilize more leftovers, and not overindulge, would make a noticeable difference in the amount of food discarded unnecessarily.
